Congratulations to our new NHS members! Each one of you are so deserving of this honor! I am so sorry I missed it!

The yearbook class is wanting to create a page in remembrance of Mr. McMillan and Mrs. Applegate. They would like to honor them with a page filled with memories, articles, and pictures of two very important people that made a difference in the lives of so many. If you have anything you would like to share, please send it to journalism@usd371.org.

SGHS Track Home Meet Schedule

Track pick up trash day….. anybody wanting to help can meet Mrs. Moyer at the concession stands at 4:15 this afternoon. She will have some trash bags. It shouldn’t take very long!

4th graders went to Southwest Livestock Auction today. They toured Kansas Grain Inspection and Kansas Farm Management. Then they saw a cattle auction and even got to bid on the cattle. A HUGE thank you to Adam and Kim for allowing us to visit today!

Two out of four eggs made it…. 🥚😎. Happy Easter!

4th/5th graders completed an egg drop STEM project today for part of their Easter Party. Video/results to come….

Attention!! Monday, May 2nd is the correct date for the spring jh/hs music concert! I posted the wrong date earlier.

Spearville Track Meet Schedule - 4/14

JH Track: The JH track meet scheduled for today at Satanta, has been cancelled due to the very high winds predicted today. We will try to find another meet to make this one up.

We are focusing on our math scores at the high school. The school board has invested in a new curriculum with both remediation and acceleration pieces integrated. I want to thank the generous person who gifted us a couple of graphing calculators. Your generosity is so appreciated! I would write you a personal note, but do not know who you are! Thank you!! ❤️

These amazing students competed at a last chance forensics meet at South Central. Jaiden Amalla 2nd poetry qualified for state champs. Keegan Loewen & Ander Briscoe 1st duet qualified for state champs. Ander Briscoe 2nd humorous solo qualified for state champs. Jess Hollingsworth competed in poetry. Congratulations!

Believe!!

Testing begins!

Calendar Change

Rebel Repay Day was a success yesterday. The wind can’t stop us! I think they even have had fun while working hard! 😀 We are so grateful for our communities! #itsagreatdaytobearebel
If you have pictures add them to the comments! I could only add 4

Please make note:
The school calendar shows SGHS Track @ KCHS is on Thursday, April 28th. That is not correct. SGHS Track @ KCHS will be FRIDAY, APRIL 29th, 3:00 pm.

SGHS parents: Post is from a concerned SPIAA parent! Spiaa League people, this one is for you. There are a plethora of Instagram accounts being made throughout the league. Some are harmless, while some have some pretty nasty names and posts. Many of them are public accounts, which means anyone can view them. My point in sharing this information is to beg that you pay attention to what your kids are doing online. A lot of the things posted in these accounts are done in a joking way, but the language and intent behind a lot of these are detrimental to the inclusive, non bullying environment we are trying so hard to create in schools. Some of these posts are considered a form of cyber bullying. While your child may not be behind the accounts, many are following them and supporting them. I blacked out the names following these accounts. This is not funny, this is not cool, this is not something I want my students to be part of. If you are on Instagram, please consider reporting these accounts. If your child is on social media, please talk to them about online safety. As someone who was in their shoes not too long ago, it is a very important conversation to have.

Once again the South Gray choir students received all ones at contest. This time at regionals at Garden City Community College. They all now qualify for state contest at Hesston College on April 30th. Congratulations to all singers!
