Coach Granados recently was on a podcast, where he talks about running. Our cross country season is well underway for the 2025 year. We have such a strong running program, where new students have joined the team. First meet took place in Meade on Thursday (9/4/25), where all the runners performed very well (official results are on KS MILE-SPLIT). He talks about a foundation of running, when it comes to performing, but wants us to also take note that there’s such a previous running history-foundation within our schools. That foundation is in place in large part to Mr and Mrs McMillan! She has coached cross country over 25 years and Mr. McMillan (coach Mac) coached ten years of cross country. She enters her 30th year in coaching Track and Field. Mr McMillan coached 27 years of Track and Field. Between the two, they have won eight state titles, numerous Regional and League titles. We endured a tremendous loss after Mr. Mcmillan’s passing. It is coaches privilege and honor to coach aside a great person like Robin McMillan. Her great wealth of running knowledge and his coaching combine now to continue adding to the running tradition of South Gray schools.
Students, it is not too late to consider joining the CROSS COUNTRY Team. A team that works hard, finds a fun way to do the work. Consider joining them, as they go “ONCE MORE INTO THE FRAY”

SGJH Football and Volleyball kicked their season off at home yesterday against Spearville with a great pep rally and games to follow!!!

Copeland Elementary Kindergartners enjoyed their first field trip on the first day of school to watch artist, Troy Freeman, finish up the new Copeland mural on the north side of the Copeland Public Library! The library has undergone a complete renovation this summer! Come out and check it out!!!! The library looks fantastic inside and out!
